CBC news recently had a quick news report about students studying Arabic after school in elementary schools in Ottawa – some as heritage speakers and others who were new to the Arabic language.  Although the written summary was not very detailed, it gave a nice picture of learners doing something very enriching.  Unfortunately many ILEA members were VERY disturbed by the many comments that were listed regarding IL in Ontario – many comments being very wild and in the Executive’s opinion, very inappropriate comments.  Check this out and until January 14th, you have the opportunity to agree/disagree with the comments (ILEA has its own CBC login as well that you will see and feel free to login with your own ID as well!).
