ILEA Chair and Executive Director attended this year’s Annual General Meeting of the CLA (Canadian Languages Association) in Calgary, Alberta. The meeting took place during the annual convention for
heritage language educators organized by the Southern Alberta Heritage Languages Association. Both Constantine Ioannou (ILEA Executive Director) and Maria Makrakis (Chair of ILEA) are on the Board of the
CLA. They were present for CLA meetings and to represent ILEA (a CLA affiliate) at the Annual General Meeting. In addition they facilitated a workshop: It’s in the Task! at the convention. It’s in the Task! is an ILEA initiative that aims to gather good performance based tasks for the language classroom for the future sharing and use of all language educators. Groups worked together to create ideas for good tasks for the language classroom that ILEA will eventually compile into a databank of task ideas – this initiative will take a
