Greetings ILEA Institutional Representatives! This is to give you early notice that our Winter Institutional Forum will take place on Monday, February 25th, 2013 in Toronto. The times will be from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and the location is yet to be finalized but it will most likely take place at the offices of the Ministry of Education – to be confirmed.

This meeting will have an intensive focus on the new IL – E Resource Guide that will soon be available on the Ministry of Education website (and linked from the ILEA website). This meeting will provide a more in depth view of the parts of the document and this will also be the meeting that will allow ILEA to brainstorm and suggest concrete examples on how best to have this document introduced to communities and school boards. An update on the IL Secondary Curriculum Guidelines will also be provided at this same meeting and we will be banking suggestions as to how to serve the needs of IL secondary teachers in the future. ILEA will be involved in the spring and fall of 2013 with projects that highlight the features of the new curriculum guidelines. In addition, the meeting will review task-based teaching which did not have adequate time on our past agenda and we will as always provide time for information sharing and Q and A. This is a key meeting for all institutions to be at so please do confirm by emailing info@ilea.ca to confirm your attendance.

Due to the location, each member will be responsible for their own lunch for this meeting either within the cafeteria or at neighbourhood restaurants. Details will follow.
